What is Double Booked?

Reading connects us. It challenges us. It gives us a place to escape — and sometimes, it gives us community.

A few years ago, I started a book club called Double Booked with fellow teachers and friends. Some of us read 10+ books a month. Others finish one or two — and that’s perfectly okay. We are proudly a no book shaming group.

Because life gets busy. We are not just double booked — we are often triple and quadruple booked.

Sometimes all you need are a good book and good friends to discuss it with!

Double Booked: Book Club Activities You Can Use

Double Booked is a relaxed, welcoming book club originally created for teachers and friends who wanted a space to share what they were reading — without pressure or judgment.

The name reflects real life. Many of us juggle careers, families, responsibilities, and social commitments.

Need a concensus for how your book club considers a book rating? These book ratings can be used separately or together.

Reading should be enjoyable — not another task. You are welcome to use any of the materials shared here or on the Book Club page for your own club. The goal is to spread the love of reading in chapters across the world.

Recently I began hosting a “big” event in January celebrating a book or book series that our Double Booked club went absolutely obsessed over.
