When you need a crowd-pleasing appetizer that delivers bold flavor without extra effort, these Spicy Crockpot Meatballs are the ultimate party solution. The deep warmth of cracked black pepper pairs beautifully with the rich sweetness of brown sugar, while tangy tomato sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire create a balanced, slightly zesty glaze that coats every bite.

Thank you to a friend’s mom, Pat, who shared her recipe with me over a decade ago. With slight tweaks to the measurements, this isn’t your typical BBQ meatball recipe. And that difference from the norm is what makes it perfect for your guests!
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, prepared mustard, garlic salt, salt, black pepper, tomato sauce, lemon juice (or vinegar), and Worcestershire sauce until fully combined.
Step 2: Add the Italian meatballs and gently stir until each meatball is evenly coated in the sweet and spicy sauce.
Step 3: Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3 hours, stirring occasionally if possible.
Serving Tip: Keep the crockpot on the “warm” setting during your party for easy self-serve access.
Serve them once, and they’ll quickly become your signature party appetizer — the perfect balance of sweet heat and effortless entertaining.
